My name is Natalie, and this is my blog. I’m currently a senior at Utah Valley University working on my degree in the incredibly respected and lucrative field of English Literature. That was a joke. I don’t really have an idea of what I want to do with my degree and with my life, but I know that literature needs to be a part of whatever I do. I believe that words are powerful. Studying literature (particularly feminist and “minority” literature along with literary theory) for the last three years has changed my life and turned me into a different person.

You may be wondering what kind of nonsense you can read here. I’m wondering the same thing. I’ve wanted to write a blog for a long time, but I’ve always felt like I don’t have anything important to contribute to the conversations around me. My mind has changed, and I now believe that my words and experiences are just as important as everyone else’s.  I plan to write a lot of posts with feminist ideas in them. I plan to rant a lot. I plan to ask questions without giving answers. I hope to make people think in the same way that I have been made to think.

These posts are my musings, my beliefs, my concerns, my observations. You don’t have to like them. You don’t have to agree with them or think they’re valuable. If you disagree with something I’ve written, teach me and help me understand why you feel the way you do. Maybe you’ll change my mind. I will do my best in all of my posts to be respectful of my potential audience, and I ask that you will do the same.

Happy reading!

Natalie
